Exchange Database Recovery

Microsoft Exchange Server is the lifeblood for the organizations using it for email communication. If it goes down for a few hours then all the communication is stopped resulting in big losses. And, if the databases in which users’ mailboxes and other data is stored, gets damaged then a terrible situation may halt the heart beats of Exchange Server Admin. Until the databases are repaired and mounted on the Exchange Server, communication cannot be restarted. And, in case, the backup cannot be used too then you can imagine what type of situation may occur for the organization facing the problem. One can use Exchange Database Recovery software to overcome this situation.

While Microsoft has developed Exchange Server for an easy and secure email communication, it has provided ESEUtil too – an application that helps managing Exchange Server. Database defragmentation, hard recovery, soft recovery, etc. are a few tasks that can be done using it, but the problem with this utility is it is not easy to use. Experts can only use this application with perfection else, it may give unexpected results.

The admin must have sufficient knowledge to decide which command should be executed and when. For example, if the requirement is for soft recovery, but the command executed is for hard recovery then the results might not be as expected. Furthermore, experts have noticed that maximum time the results given by ESEUtil are far away from the expected results. In such cases, users are recommended to use the Exchange Recovery tools that are specially designed to repair the Exchange database files and recover all mailboxes with maximum data while keeping the quality of the mailbox data intact.

Nowadays, there are Exchange Database Recovery tools that not only repair damaged databases but also let the Exchange Admin directly mount them on the server without any delays so that the communication can be started as quickly as possible. Using an Exchange Recovery tool is much easier than the Microsoft’s native ESEUtil utility. The very first benefit is the user interface over the command line execution. The admin just needs to select the damaged EDB files and hit the repair button. Rest of the work is performed by the specialized application resulting in the usable databases, which are ready to mount on the Exchange Server. During the recovery process, no need to connect with the Exchange Server as well.
